I grew up outside of Vandervoort and attended Van-Cove Schools for 13 years. I attended Southern Arkansas University for my bachelor's degree in AgriBusiness and University of Arkansas for my master's in Crop, Soil, and Environmental Science. I decided to become a teacher and got my certification through the Non-Traditional Program. I moved back to Polk County and began teaching at Van-Cove High School in 2006. I have taught 7th Grade Math, Algebra A, Algebra B, Algebra 1, Algebraic Connections, 7th Grade Science, 8th Grade Science, Physical Science, Biology, and Physics at one time or another.
I live on the same farm where I grew up along the Cossatot River east of Vandervoort. I live there with my husband, David, and my daughter, Cara, who was born in 2013.
I love teaching, especially science. I enjoy seeing the students' faces change when I tell them some new fact and they understand why something in their lives works the way it does. I will answer any question they have as long as it is a real question.
