Suntrust Sweepstakes. This is a $500 scholarship that is part of a random drawing. Enter at suntrusteducation.com/scholarshipsweepstakes.

The Elks National Foundation sponsors the Most Valuable Student Scholarship. The Foundation offers over 500 four-year scholarships a year. You must apply at www.elks.org/enf/scholars and turn the application into Ms. Hunter by November 30, 2016.

Horatio Agler Scholarship: Must apply online at www.horatioalger.org/scholarships. The deadline is October 25.

Coca Cola Scholarship: Apply online at http://www.coca-colascholarsfoundation.org/. October 31 is the deadline.

Rich Mountain Conservation Scholarship: Students must write an essay. County winners are awarded $500 for college expenses. The winner will go on to the state competition. Applications will be in the counselor’s office usually starting in January. Deadline Feb. 14

American Legion Scholarship; must have a family member that is a member of the American Legion. Applications will be in the counselor’s office usually starting in January.  Deadline is March 15.

Dixie Youth Baseball: must have participated in Dixie Youth Baseball. Deadline is Feb. 1. Amounts vary $500-1000. www.dixieyouth.org

Walmart Scholarship for associates and children of associates who have worked at least 6 months. Go to www/act/org/walmart/depend. Click on education on the side menu. Access key is WMAS.  Opens January 1, 2017.

Arkansas Public Health: $500 Student must major in health sciences and have a 2.5 GPA. Go to www.arkpublichealth.org/scholarships.php. Deadline is March 16

KFC Colonel’s Scholars awards up to $20,000. Required GPS of 2.7 Deadline Feb. 8

The Arkansas Association of Federal Coordinators is offering the AAFC Scholarship to high school seniors to supplement college costs beginning their freshman year. This scholarship award is $1,000.00 for the first Academic Year, and will be awarded to full-time students who enroll in an Arkansas College or University, including junior colleges, community and vocational or technical colleges, and plan to major in education. to access the application click here

SportQuest ScholarshipThis scholarship is for christian athletes who wish to continue their education.

AXA Achievement Community Scholarship Scholarships are awarded to students who are active in community service and overcoming odds. Deadline is Feb. 1, 2017.

 

Arkansas Public Health Association Scholarship: These scholarships are for high school seniors majoring in public health. Scholarship applicaitons are in the counselor's office or can be printed by clicking here.

The State Farm Good Neighbor Scholarship does not require a high GPA, but rather focuses on students who are leaders and volunteers in their communities and demonstrate financial need. Deadline for this scholarship is March 2, 2015.

UALR has two STEM Scholarships available. The first is the University Science Scholars Program (USSP).  It provides scholarships to outstanding students (>24 ACT and >3.0 GPA) who are interested in majoring in biology, chemistry, physics, or mathematics.  Students may receive up to $3,000 per year. 

The second program is the Arkansas Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation program (ARK-LSAMP).  This program is for underrepresented minorities who are interested in majoring in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM).  It provides $800 per semester for two years and $1,200 plus room and board for a summer institute prior to the student’s first semester.  Students, who meet the requirements of both programs, can participate in and receive funding from both programs. Dealine is Feb. 1 for both scholarships.

The Shelter Insurance Foundation will award scholarships annually to graduating seniors at high schools approved and accredited by the State Department of Education (public or parochial) where the following conditions are met. The deadline is March 31 and scholarships must be turned in to Ms. Hunter:

        (a)   There must be a Shelter Insurance Agent participating in the scholarship program in the community where the high school is located.

           (b)   The program will be limited to three scholarships per academic year, and the participating agent must contribute $400 per scholarship to the Shelter Insurance Foundation.

         (c)    Scholarships will be given without regard to race, disability, age, religion, national origin, or gender of prospective recipients.  Children of any Shelter Insurance Agent or Employee are NOT eligible recipients of scholarships.

 

The Arkansas Rural Education Association is offering two scholarships. One is for the child of an AREA district member and the other is for any student in the district. The scholarships are valued at $ 1000 each for four years. To apply click here. The deadline is April 10, 2017. 

Annually, the Arkansas School Board Association (ASBA) awards four scholarships - one from each of the state's four congressional districts. A committee, appointed by the ASBA Board of Directors, will review scholarship applications and determine awardees. Awards will be made before the fall school term. Click here for application.

The J.K. Williams Memorial Scholarship (formerly the at-large scholarship) will also be awarded. It will be a one-time scholarship to a student pursuing an advanced degree in the educational field at an Arkansas institution of higher education.

The American Indian Center of Arkansas is awarding the 2015 Ernest Whitelaw-Don Kinney Scholarship. To apply you must have a CDIB card and be a resident of Arkansas. Deadline is April 17, 2015

Applications are available in the counselor's office for the Polk County Farm Bureau Scholarship. The deadline is April 3, 2015.

DKG Alpha Kappa High School Grant in Aid Scholarship. This scholarship is for a female wishing to major in education. The deadline is March 15.

In January, 2016, the Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame (ASHOF) will award five $1,000 scholarships to Arkansas high school senior students who will be enrolling in an Arkansas college.  These scholarships are available to both boys and girls who have been affected by sports.  For directions, click here. The deadliine is December 31, 2015.

 2016 National School Plant Management Association Scholarship application.  The  submission deadline is February 1, 2016.  

The Hatfield’s Lions Club is sponsoring the Grantz-Hays Scholarship. Applications can be picked up in the counselor’s office or printed by clicking here. Deadline is April 30, 2016.

The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International- Alpha Kappa Chapter has a High School Grant-in-Aid Award Application for a senior girl wishing to major in education. Applications are in the counselor’s office. Deadline is March 15, 2016.

Centennial Bank and State Farm...Centennial Bank, the “Titled Named Sponsors” for all regional and state championships, and State Farm Insurance, the “Official Sponsor of Awards for all Arkansas Activities Association regional and state championships, will provide a total of 20 annual $1,000 scholarships to qualifying high school seniors..

Wendy’s High School Heisman scholarship. 1st deadline is October 6, 2016. 

U of A Rich Mountain Scholarships: Foundation Scholarship, Academic Scholarship, Ouachita Promise Scholarship, and the Joel Campora Distringuished Leader Scholarship. Deadlines are April 1, 2017.

The American Legion, Department of Arkansas, is offfering 8 scholarships. Four will be in the award of $ 1000.00 and four in the amount of $ 2,500.00. Click here for the application. The deadline is March 13, 2017. 

The Arkansas Rehibilitation Services offers assistance with a program of vocational training- college or university, business, trade school or other types of training. The Student Health Survey will help to determine if a student is elgible. 

TheDream.Us Opportunity Scholarship Program is offering scholarships to highly motivated Dreamers with DACA or TPS status. Please click here for the the application. Please note tat this is for Connecticut and Delaware colleges. 

The Arkansas Chamber Singers offers a Vocal/Choral Scholarship Program for $1,000.00 First Place and $500 for Second Place. Deadline is December 16, 2016. An audition and interview will be held on Sunday, January 29, 2017 beginning at 3:00 PM at Holy Souls Catholic Church in Little Rock, AR. Students applying need to plan on majoring in voice or music. The National Beta awards over $300,000 in scholarships with awards ranging from $1,000 to $15,000 to outstanding 12th grade Beta members. Visit www.betaclub.org/scholarship to apply. The deadline is January 26, 2017.

The National Wood Flooring Association’s $1000 scholarship for a current high school senior who plans to study forestry after graduation.Click here for  the applicaiton. The deadline is Feb. 1, 2017.

Five License2HOWL Scholarships are available for the 2017-18 academic year for incoming freshmen at Arkansas State. These scholarships are $5,000 for the year and are renewable for recipients who continue to meet criteria and re-apply.The application deadline is 5:00 p.m. Friday, December 2, 2016.L2H scholarships are for Arkansas residents who will be full-time freshmen on the Jonesboro campus, have a minimum ACT score of 23 and a high school GPA of 3.5 or above. The selection committee will evaluate demonstrated leadership qualities and student involvement. Click here for application.
